Mission High School Alumni

Where are some good places to have a class reunion? To answer this, I guess it may depend on the size of the class.

Here are some ideas:
  • Personal home
  • Mission Bell Resort
  • That oaks country club
  • Pepe's on the River
  • MHS Gym
  • The Luxor

Any other ideas? Later on, we can add contact info.

That would be a good idea. We would need to know how many people are we looking at?? I don't mind helping with the class reunion.

Last reunion, we had too much space for the number of people who showed. I think we can go small and do well. We could fill a restaurant or club. Why don't we go on around 30-40 people as a start?

We checked out Riverside Club last weekend, it's pretty nice. That might be a good place to have a reunion.

Looks like Pepe's, but a nice Pepe's. Indoors and a reasonably priced menu. Let's keep this one in mind.

What's the Luxor?? The only one I know of is in Las Vegas. I've been locked up in the UTPA library so long that I have no clue what is going on around town.

If we do have it in the MHS gym, would it be the old gym or the Neuhaus gym...wow. That would actually be sorta trippy. Maybe someone knows of a club or place that isn't so out in the open like Pepe's (mosquitoes suck in the summer and its chilly in the winter). I don't know if anyone cares, but has anyone looked into Fast Eddie's in McAllen or whatever? But as Omar pointed out, we really would need to know just how many people we are talking about here before we start making decisions.

The Luxor, I think that's what it's called, is a nice hall on 3.5 mile on Conway on the left side going north. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but it's pretty nice inside. For our class, based on the last reunion, it may be a little much. I just put that out there because the forum is open to other graduating classes that may have use for it.

I'm open to whatever venue the committee decides. We just have to work on who will be a part of the committee and then we need to start making decisions. I'm going to start making a list of things that we need to do so that it's not a vague concept. It's probably easier to ask everybody to do specific things rather than simply asking for "help". I realize that it could mean just about anything and committing to "help" could mean commiting to neverending tasks. This way, we can all volunteer to discreet, simple tasks and be done. This should not turn into a nightmare for anybody.

Please let me know if there is anything I could do to help. I would love to be able to help out. I am open to somewhere comfy...I am going on 5 months pregnant and need a comfy place to sit and especially EAT!!! (hehehe)

Shaine Homecoming is Nov. 9th it is the last game against Mercedes. Just got the info.

Thanks, Omar. I think we can agree to meet on Nov. 9th somewhere. Last time, we met in the library at MHS before the pep rally. I don't know if that was pre-arranged or if it's something NHS does for all alumni. If anybody wants, we can meet in October somewhere to brainstorm a bit.

Maybe we should think about asking Priscilla about Taco Ole again. I can't believe that Homecoming is so close! When did the season start ending so quickly??? I can remember it going on until at least Thanksgiving...I don't know, maybe I'm wrong. :( In the case of "help"...let me know what is out there to do and I'll let you know what I can get away with according to time restrictions on my part. On the whole, I think I may have a bit more "play" going on timewise than everyone else (single and no kids), but I do have to watch my academic integrity (too many papers and tests and crap) plus my job....BUT I can make time for this...It's IMPORTANT! Just let me know Shaine...Maybe Kendra and I can team up or something?

I can also ask my wife's uncle at El Patio if you all would like. He does have a whole section also that is great for the size we had for our 10 year.

I love their chips and salsa. I like El Patio.
