Death

I don't know if anyone remembers him or not, he graduated with my husband in 92, but Roosevelt Martin died today in a motorcycle accident in Mission. The news reported that it was at the intersection of 495 and Conway and that a 17 year old is going to be cited for the accident. It was on the 10 o'clock news so there isn't anything on KRGV's site yet. Anyway, just thought I would post. It is always a bit shocking to hear about someone your own age,that you went to school with, passing away so young. I know we all had to deal with the bus accident and nothing can compare to that, but I think we have lost quite a few classmate4s to accidents and other things, even prison/jail like Arnica Grace and her brother Tobias http://www.bizjournals.com/austin/stories/2004/09/27/story1.html . Just thinking how short our lives could be and we don't realize it.

I just wanted to say that Roosevelt was one of the nicest guys you could have ever met. For those of us who knew him, we were very lucky to have him in our lives, and he will be missed. I was able to get back into the monitor and I noticed another article, apparently an interview with Rose's mom. Here is the link, I haven't read it, but I am going to read it after I post it.

As for Rose, I heard about it from my sister-in-law shortly after it happened (her brother-in-law is Hampton Huddleston) and was stunned. Talked to Kendra and Theresa and they heard about it on the news. I can't say that I pay attention to the local news all that much and get it mostly from either here or emails. I hope that Rose's family will be alright, especially his kids.; ▶ Reply to This
