So it may not be worth 2 cents but.....
Hi All.... My first blog entry... what to do... what to do.. Should I say something witty? Should I complain about gas prices? I know.... the upcoming election! Uh... no. I'll just ramble a bit about the activity that's been taking up the last three months of my life. LOL.
Just finished up coordinating the 5th Annual Mission Classic Car Show. It was held Saturday, March 8th, at The Mission Sports Park at Sharyland Plantation. We had over 250 muscle cars, hot rods, street rods, and classic cars in attendance, and we gave away over $4000.00 in cash and prizes. I, along with my family, have been helping put this show on for the City of Mission for the last 5 years, and I'm really proud of it's success. We had LOTS of help from friends and volunteers. Kirk Brown (Class of 86) headed up our food and table vendors, and really worked his tail off getting things just right. The girls from the Mission Paving office put in lots of extra hours putting registration packs and goody bags together, and were instrumental the day of the show in helping things go off without a hitch. We estimate over 5000 people visited that day, which is not bad for a show just 5 years old. Judging by the response, the folks at the city were pretty happy too. If anyone wants to see some pictures of the show now, they can visit www.progresstimes.net and click photos... there should be a lot there. Also, www.RGVOldCars.com may have their pictures up already.
